Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
I first saw this poem in The Outsiders, one of the best books I have ever read. It's by Robert Frost. ;) It means a lot, I just can't explain. it just means a lot... Hope you like it. The last two lines are in the header now...

I read The Outsiders, too! VERY good book :)
I agree--I love that poem! Especially the "Stay Gold" part. Since Johnny's last words to Ponyboy were
"Stay Gold, Ponyboy...Stay Gold"
-Alexandra :D
I know. Very sad and touching, here is the EXACT line, I have it memorized by heart. ;)
"Stay gold, Ponyboy.... stay gold." The pillow seemed to sink a little, and Johnny died.
So sad. :'(
